Senior BSP leader Jamuna Nishad, who has snapped ties with the SP, criticised Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for protecting the interests of the BJP
Sharply reacting to Nishad’s remarks, SP leader and district treasurer of the party Rajesh Singh Sainthwar said that Nishad had joined the BSP at the behest of BJP leader Yogi Adityanath.

He said that the BSP had a secret understanding with the BJP and its allies.

Criticising Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for his alleged soft corner for the BJP, Nishad said here that his secular credential had come under clouds in the SP as the party had failed to rein in the BJP in the district. Nishad criticised the SP leaders for keeping the minority community in the dark. He accused the CM of promoting corporate socialism.
