CRITICISING THE three-year regime of Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader and former MP, Dr Ratnakar Pandey, said this government was the most unsuccessful government in the history of Uttar Pradesh.

“The SP government has done nothing to overcome the miseries of common people since its installation’, Dr Pandey told mediapersons here on Friday. Dr Pandey said that Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government was trying to lure the common people by distributing sarees and unemployment doles but he did not realise that people needed development work and security which was nowhere in sight. He further accused the government of shielding criminals, mafia and capitalists.
“A large number of farmers have been displaced by the SP government in the name of development”, he said and added that poor people were completely disappointed with Samajwadi Party who were now getting inclined towards Congress party.
Under such scenario, Congress workers and newly appointed office bearers of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) should go to the common people to redress their problems, he said. He further added that Congress party should strengthen the party’s roots at ground level.
Dr Pandey said that Congress should give preference to ground level party workers while deciding tickets in the upcoming Assembly election of UP. He further added that like other political parties, Congress should also announce the names of party candidates for the next Assembly election.
