THE BSP general secretary Nasimuddin Siddique today assailed the ruling Samajwadi Party of only making tall claims about the welfare of the Muslim community in the State. The BSP leader said that the SP’s hobnobbing with the BJP had been badly exposed and the ruling party would no longer be able to misguide the community.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, Siddique said resentment was brewing in the community, which was amply demonstrated during the local bodies elections. He said there had been massive migration of the community from the SP and the trend was unstoppable. Siddique said it would largely help the BSP in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Siddique said apart from Iran nuclear issue and restoration of minority character of the Aligarh Muslim University, the party had vociferously defended the community’s stand on Danish cartoon issue. He said Mayawati had then demanded the recall of Indian envoy from Denmark in protest. Siddique rebutted the charge that Mayawati had accused entire Muslim community of being fanatic. He said the BSP chief had only criticised one person in Meerut.
The BSP, which has planned to organise ‘Muslim conferences’ from the first week of December, said it would come out with welfare agenda for the community. Asserting that BSP chief Mayawati was committed to the welfare of the community, Siddique said whenever she came to power the government implemented various welfare schemes.

{{/usCountry}}The BSP leader said the SP government was only misguiding the community on the welfare issues. He said SP was also been trying to create fear psychosis among the Muslims, which would not work now.
He said during the last three years, the Dalits and Muslims had come closer in rural and urban areas and it had created ripples in the SP. Siddique said in western UP there had been overwhelming response of the community to BSP, as recently large numbers of people joined the party.
Similarly, in some strong minority community pockets, the party had succeeded in strengthening its base. While assailing the State Government for deteriorating law and order, Siddique said developmental activities had come to grinding halt in the State.
