JANATA DAL United has alleged that the Samajwadi Party was misusing the official machinery in the civic polls in the district.

Addressing the meeting at the camp office in ward number 65, the party leader and election incharge Faizi Razi Khan came down heavily on the Samajwadi Party for misusing official machinery and he alerted the workers of major cheating in civic bodies election because this election was going to prove a waterloo for the ruling party.
He charged the SP activists with extorting money from people for the elections.
Failure of SP Government on all fronts would be a major issue in the elections, said Raizi. However, the party had authorised the district president Indra Bhadur Singh and city president S Shahid Hasan to decide the party ticket to candidates for Nagar Nigam election. Mohammed Khalid presided over the meeting.
Meanwhile, three more persons filed papers at the collectorate office on Wednesday for the Mayors election to be held on November 3.
Today’s list includes Kumar Narain an independent candidate with BSP’s support, Shiv Murat Gupta who filed his nomination as Bhartiya Jan Shakti Party candidate ( Uma Bharti’s party) and Gopal Swarup Joshi an independent candidate.

{{/usCountry}}Sources said, Vinod Chandra Dube who is also president District Bar association is expected to file his nomination as the SP candidate on October 5. Vijay Misra, who had been given ticket by the BJP, may also file his papers for the post of Mayor on Thursday.
Meanwhile 56 nominations were filed till date for the corporators’ seat. There was a larger turn out on Wednesday with as many as 42 aspirants filing their nomination for the post of corporator. So far, the entire nomination process held peacefully.

TWO CANDIDATES filed their nomination papers for the post of Nagar Palika Parishad (Bela Pratapgarh) chairman here on Monday. MLA Hari Pratap Singh filed his nomination papers in four sets as the BJP candidate. Former minister Shivakant Ojha and senior BJP leader Pandit Udai Raj Mishra were also present.
