THE NIECE of Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament (MP) Salim Sherwani was allegedly assaulted by a youth here on Monday evening. Consequently, she has lodged a case of assault at the Cantonment police station.
The daughter of Geep Industries General Manager Kaleem was on vacation to Allahabad from Canada and had gone shopping in the city. She was allegedly assaulted by a perso called Yusuf after a dispute that took place while her driver was parking the car at her residence.
She informed her father of the incident and the Cantonment police station was flooded with calls from higher authorities. The case of assault has been registered by the Cantonment police in this regard.
Youth killed in smash-up
ONE PERSON died and four were injured in different accidents here on Tuesday.
Anand Singh (20), son of late Raj Narayan Singh, resident of Bikaria Bujurg village under Kunda police station, died on the spot when he was run over owing to collision of a tractor with a truck near Lalganj. Police seized the truck while the drivers of both vehicles fled the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
A couple and their child received injuries when they were hit by a tempo near Pipri police station. Kailash (35), his wife Asha (32) and their daughter Bitti (4), residents of Bariyama village under Charwa police station were hit by a speeding tempo while they were going to Tikri Gopalpur village on a bicycle. They were rushed to the SRN Hospital where the condition of Kailash was stated to be critical.

{{/usCountry}}Pankaj Kumar (25), son of Girija Shanker Dixit, resident of Sahabad village under Manikpur police station of Pratapgarh district was admitted to the SRN hospital on Tuesday.
He was allegedly attacked by some people on Monday. His family said that he was attacked by his uncle and cousins after a dispute over the possession of property. A named FIR has been registered against the culprits.
