"We have no no faith in the CBI. It gave a clean chit to Quattrocchi in the Bofors case and now Government of India has decided to defreeze his accounts in London", party vice-president Janeshwar Mishra told reporters.

He was responding to newspersons query whether the party was ready to hand over the phone-tapping case to the country's premier investigating agency as has been suggested by CPI leader AB Bardhan.

Earlier, party leader Amar Singh raised a similar question and wanted to know what had been the factor behind defreezing of Quattrocchi's London account.

The British government had frozen Quattrocchi's bank accounts in United Kingdom and offshore islands on India's request three years ago which the Centre has now decided to defreeze on the plea that the Crown prosecution had sought the status of the investigation.
