"We will officially meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to decide upon the strategy of running the government now that we have won the confidence vote," party general secretary Amar Singh told reporters here.

He, however, refused to comment on whether the party would actively participate in the Government or not.

Singh's residence today wore a festive look and there was a continuous stream of party MPs and well wishers visiting him and party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav armed with bouquets and sweets, even as a group of dancers enthralled visitors with dance and music.

Yadav and Singh had informal meetings with all the UPA leaders and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi with whom they exchanged greetings.

A triumphant Singh said that till a few days back the media and other political parties had announced the break up of Samajwadi Party and there was a headcount going on as to how many of its MPs had defected.

On being asked whether the party would take any action against its rebel MPs, the party general secretary said that a decision on this would be taken later.

A decision on future alliance with Congress in the coming general elections would also be taken soon, as it is essential to fight communal forces unitedly, he added.
