The Gurgaon police have launched a special drive against tractors and trolleys which are creating chaos in residential areas. HT reports.

The Gurgaon police have launched a special drive against tractors and trolleys which are creating chaos in residential areas.

Though such vehicles have been given permission for agricultural activities only, operators are using them for commercial purposes.

Apart from causing accidents, the presence of tractors on busy roads affects vehicular movement. Moreover, owners are registering these vehicles for agriculture use and putting them to commercial use, causing a revenue loss to the government.

"We have got several complaints from residents that tractors honk unnecessarily and are also involved in several accidents. They are often not insured and don't carry relevant documents. They are easily noticeable at traffic signals when drivers start honking without even waiting for the signal to turn green or the traffic to move on," said Bharti Arora, DCP (traffic), Gurgaon.
