Special Ops kill two Maoists in Orissa encounter

Two Maoists were killed today in a fierce encounter with security forces in a forested and hilly area of Orissa's Keonjhar district.

Two Maoists were killed on Wednesday in a fierce encounter with security forces in a forested and hilly area of Orissa's Keonjhar district.

The encounter took place after Special Operations Group personnel and the police raided the Pancham hills in Rebana-Palaspal forest in the Daitary area, about 60 km from Keonjhar.

The bodies were found after the encounter which lasted seven hours.

A search was being conducted in the forest to ascertain if there were more Maosists.
