You don’t choose. I feel that this system of MPs getting together and selecting someone as prime minister is all bunk. We should have a cabinet made up only of prime ministers.

What nonsense, how would any work get done that way? Everyone would want to get his or her way.

Exactly, they would squabble endlessly among themselves and try and pull each other down. At the end of the day, by a process of elimination, only the best man or woman will be left standing.

An extraordinary suggestion. But what about other portfolios? Who would frame policy on issues like agriculture, foreign affairs etc?

The policies are already there. To hear you speak, one would think that governments are actually interested in framing policies. Can’t you understand that everyone is out to show the other person down and come out on top? Once in power, who cares about policies?

This would lead to anarchy. Who would look after the interests of the voiceless, the deprived?

Well, it might be worth a try though I still have my reservations.

No one gives a toss about your reservations. I think it could work. We could then call it a democrazy.

Do say: Let the fist among equals prevail.

Don’t say: The buck stops here.
