Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde, who quit the party, on Tuesday night, met Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray and conveyed his feelings and the reasons for his resignation from the party post.
Emerging from an hour-long meeting with the Sena chief at the latter's residence `Matoshri' in suburban Bandra, Munde told reporters, "I had come to tell Bala Saheb my feelings. Since Pramodji is not there, I have nobody except Bal Thackeray to share my grievances. I respect him a lot".
Munde refused to elaborate on the talks he had with the Sena chief. "He just listened to what I had to say," Munde said.
He reiterated his decision not to go to Delhi despite being summoned by the party central leaders. "My representatives are already in Delhi and they will convey what I have to say. I am in touch with party president Rajnath Singh over telephone," he said.
To a question on reports that he plans to quit his assembly seat on April 24, Munde said he will take a decision after the budget session of the assembly.
Meanwhile, before his meeting with Thackeray, Munde visited PWP leader and MLC Jayant Patil at his residence. NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was also present there.
