The nurses are agitated over the fact that despite SRN Hospital being part of Allahabad Central University the State government is governing their transfer and posting policy.

Superintendent-in-charge (SIC) of the SRN Hospital Dr NBL Srivastava has also sent a letter on Saturday to the additional director (health) Allahabad division in which he has highlighted the technical problems in transferring the nurses and paramedical staff.

In the letter, the SIC has requested the AD to reconsider the points highlighted by the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital Employees Association in relation to their transfer.

"The SRN Hospital along with the MLN Medical College has been made part of the Allahabad Central University. In view of these developments the UGC has also stopped the recruitment procedure. Recently a list of all the employees and staff posted at the SRN Hospital was sent to the Allahabad Central University vice chancellor on his request.

Nurses association district president and staff nurse posted at the SRN Hospital Safia Khatun said after a meeting with the AD on Sunday they would decide their further strategy. "More than half of our service period was spent in managing the hospital with meager resources.

Due to staff crisis we did overtime to provide regular services to the patients.

But when the time came to get fruits of our hard work the State government issued directions to transfer all the nurses and paramedical staff. This is highly unjustified and technically wrong," she added.
