ST JOSEPH?S Co-Ed School celebrated Diwali with traditional fervour and enthusiasm. Newly elected BJP Bhopal district president Alok Sanjar was the chief guest on the occasion.

ST JOSEPH’S Co-Ed School celebrated Diwali with traditional fervour and enthusiasm. Newly elected BJP Bhopal district president Alok Sanjar was the chief guest on the occasion.

The programme began with a prayer. Wearing traditional dress, the students of the school offered prayers before the idols of Hindu Gods. After the prayer, two students of the school presented a Bharatnatyam.

A mime show by the students of the middle section was the attraction of the function, a press release said. The primary students sang a song. The students also presented two dances, a classical and a western, on the occasion.
Chief guest Alok Sanjar, in his address said he was happy to celebrate Diwali with the students. He extended Diwali and Id greetings to the students and staff of the school.

School Manager Fr Abraham said, “Diwali brings joy and happiness, it reminds us of the long struggle of Lord Ram in the wilderness and his steadfastness in waging a war against all external forces and the eventual victory over all evil forces; it also reminds us of his glorious return to Ayodhya, his kingdom.”

Principal of the school Fr Maria Stephen, headmistress Sr Mercy, head coordinator Sr Julie, staff members and students were present, on the occasion.
