While the Hindu Utsav Samiti and Nav-yuvak Sindhi Yuva Sangthan will begin celebrations with Holika Dahan on the eve of the festival, Madhya Pradesh Rashtriya Bhasha Samiti has announced to organise a cultural programme where folk singers from Nimad and Kumaon have been invited to spread the message of Holi in their distinct styles.

Sindhi Yuva Sangthan has also invited personalities from Bollywood to perform at a programme to be organised at Idgah Hills after the ritual of Holika Dahan. Bollywood personalities like Annu Kapur and Johnny Lever along with Ehsaan Qureshi of the Great Indian Laughter Competition fame would perform at the function.

The festival of Holi on March 15 will start with ‘Holi Chal Samaroh’ from Jumerati and Nehru Nagar, being organised by Hindu Utsav Samiti and Nav-yuvak Hindu Utsav Samiti respectively.

These programmes will end with the customary celebration of the festival with colours and distribution of sweets and other special delicacies symbolic of the festival.

Meanwhile, Tamrakar Samaj will organise a get-together on March 19 to jointly celebrate Holi and Rang Panchami

Security stepped up
ELABORATE SECURITY arrangements have been made in Madhya Pradesh to ensure peace and communal harmony and maintain law and order on Holi and Rangpanchami. PHQ Law and Order IG Ashok Soni informed today that as many as 25 companies of SAF and 3,000 additional policemen have been deployed at various spots in the State for the two festivals. Besides, four companies of RAF have been posted at highly sensitive spots in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur.

Police have already initiated intensive checking drives at important public places and religious buildings in all the major cities of the State. Prohibitory action is being taken against anti social elements to curb any untoward activities, Soni added. He said meetings of peace committees are being held in all districts of the State to urge people for celebrating the festivals with communal peace.
