Actor Shiney Ahuja can continue to stay in Mumbai until June 30, the Bombay High Court said on Wednesday.

The actor, who is facing a trial for allegedly raping his maid at his Oshiwara residence in June 2009, had got bail from the court in October, but was asked to stay in Delhi and enter Mumbai only for his case hearing.

In May, Ahuja had sought relaxation of the condition because he wanted to shoot for his film, Shunya. The court had granted him permission to stay in the city to complete the shoot.
Ahuja’s lawyer sought extension until June 30 because of rescheduling of the actor’s film shoots. A single bench judge of Justice A.R. Joshi granted him permission on Wednesday.
