Cool, funky sneakers, killer heel stilettos and slip-ons that exude comfort. There’s a smorgasbord of fashionable footwear and decent discounts on offer at the Big CP Sale, on at leading shoe outlets at Connaught Place, brought to you by HT City.

According to Vidur Mehta, scion of the Baluja Shoe Company, sporty sneakers, in feminine hues like fuchsia pink and bright yellow were a hit with the ladies on the campus this season. “Although we retail popular brands such as Converse as Lotus Bawa as well, but our summer range of sneakers imported from Hong Kong, Thailand and China was a huge hit.” The range is available at Balujas for anything between Rs 699 and Rs 999. Plus, at the Big CP Sale, you can avail of discounts ranging between 10 and 50 per cent too.
If sporty shoes found favour for casual wear this season, narrow toe sandals were the flavour of the month for evenings out. According to Vansons owner Rajeev Kashyap, stilettos in the classic tie-up style, flew off the shelves at the store this season. “Open-toed sandals are passe. The shift was towards narrow toe shoes this season and it will continue for the season ahead. At Vansons, the bestsellers were elegant Taiwanese and Chinese sandals pegged at Rs 1,000, designed to make heads turn at parties, when paired with an elegant evening dress.”
Woodlands introduced a range of leather shoes with flexible soles made of thermoplastic rubber for summer 2004. “The accent is on comfort. These shoes go well with most outfits and the comfortable moccasins sold more than the lace-up variety. Admittedly they are a bit expensive between Rs 1795 and 1995, but we still managed to sell at least five pieces a day,” says Anil Das, manager of Woodlands’ Connaught Place outlet. Now that you know the options, put your best foot forward.
