He said that the government was taking steps for increasing power generation capacity to ensure round-the-clock supply. He asked the engineers and employees to identify genuine customers and provide better services to them.

Responding to one of the demands of MP Vidyut Mandal Abhiyanta Sangh and other employee associations for recruitment of more engineers and employees, he said the government would make recruitment on need basis.

On the issue of promotion, he assured the engineers and employees that their cases would be considered. Addressing a daylong 25th annual convention of the MP Vidyut Mandal Abhiyanta Sangh here, Sahni appreciated the engineers and employees for their role in providing quality service. He said the MPSEB must provide more efficient services so that it may not lag behind the private service providers.

He said there are two major challenges before the company. One is installation of new equipment for boosting power supply
and the other is to replace the old ones with latest technology.

MP Vidyut Mandal Abhiyanta Sangh general secretary Vinay Pandey appealed to the government to promote alternative sources of power generation like solar energy to reduce dependence on conventional sources of energy.
