Still, proctor says thanks

LUCKNOW UNIVERSITY (LU) proctor AN Singh says ?thank you? to the students and their leaders even after they thrashed, manhandled and misbehaved with several teachers and helped their friends with copying material during the final examinations. In an open letter addressed to students, proctor thanked the students for their cooperation in conducting the examinations peacefully.

LUCKNOW UNIVERSITY (LU) proctor AN Singh says ‘thank you’ to the students and their leaders even after they thrashed, manhandled and misbehaved with several teachers and helped their friends with copying material during the final examinations. In an open letter addressed to students, proctor thanked the students for their cooperation in conducting the examinations peacefully.

The proctor’s missive reads, “You people have cooperated a lot and we look forward to a similar approach from your side.” The LU pleaded the student leaders to further cooperate and not to venture inside the campus during the examination hour. Instead, they should also stop others from entering the premises during the examination hour.

It also reads, “Regularity of the academic session is largely dependent on peaceful conduction of the examination and the admission process. Hindrances in this work not only hit the normal academic atmosphere but also hamper the other programmes of the varsity. And in the larger scenario we all fail to achieve our aims.”

The proctor’s letter not only reflects the power and the might which student leaders enjoy but it also shows how insensitive LU administration is towards its teachers who were being repeatedly manhandled by student leaders during the examinations.
