“I am still the same Saina. It is great satisfaction to win a medal. I went for the gold but lost in semis, I will never forget the defeat which happened under pressure,” she says.

Talking about her interview where she had said that Bollywood actor and badminton player Deepika Padukone doesn’t even remember her, she says, “No, there is nothing like that. She is the best and a sport lover. She loves us a lot.” She had refused certain big-budget endorsement offers as she wanted to concentrate on Olympics. “I did not reject them but asked them to delay everything till the end of Olympics. I am interested in endorsements, but due to paucity of time I delayed them for some time.”

Will we ever get to see her on the big screen? “No! I am only a badminton player,” she signs off.
