There may be no second cutoff list at SRCC, but the good news is that most north campus colleges are likely to keep admissions open for most courses.
And the cutoff may actually fall for some science and humanities courses by anything between 1-3% — that’s a lot, considering the competition is now balanced on decimal marks.
While B.Com and Economics courses have been swamped by students in most colleges despite the high cutoff, some colleges like Hindu say they are still planning to keep admissions open for these subjects.
“We may not decrease the cutoff, but we will keep admissions open for commerce because these students do tend to move,” said Kavita Sharma, Hindu College principal.
The case is slightly different in colleges like IP and Ramjas where the cutoff was slightly lower. While at Ramjas, all 60 seats have been filled, at IP College 90 students have been taken in against 60 seats.

B N Ray, admissions committee convenor for Ramjas College, however, say all students who fulfil the first list criteria will be taken in. Both the colleges, however, say there may be no second list.
“We have already over shot the seat limit by 50% for BCom (H) and Economics (H). Even in subjects like math and political science we have overshot the number of seats. There will be no second list in these subjects,” said Manaswini Yogi, IP College media co-ordinator.
Then what should students be hopeful about. Definitely science courses and some humanities courses. And that’s the case at Hansraj as well. Cutoffs for these subjects may fall by over 1%.
“Other popular science courses may see a dip of 0.5% to 1%. Some humanities courses like English, History and BA Programme may also see a dip in cutoffs,” said S R Arora, principal Hansraj College.
In south campus many popular science courses in colleges like Gargi, Venkateswara, Kamala Nehru and Moti Lal Nehru College are already full. B.Com (H) and Economics (H) courses are also nearly full.
