Perhaps the parents of Sonu are hardly aware of the fact that such behaviour is not the result of the environment provided at home. Surprisingly, very few are aware of this fact that the above behaviour termed as 'hyperkinetic' in psychiatric terminology could be the result of few incidents that happened during birth of the child or during pregnancy.

This abnormality is found in several kids but parents approach the experts only when the condition becomes very severe. In his recent survey done on a group of about 150 couples with the similar abnormality in their child Dr Kamlesh Tiwari revealed that very few couples knew the exact cause of this problem.

"The child becomes hyperkinetic when it is in the mother's womb. Like, the first cause could be early marriage specifically before the age of 21 years. This brings in abnormalities in the proper development of the brain as the mother herself is not mature enough to conceive.

It is much common for the couples to take stress out of frustration if the child is unwanted and this should be avoided at any cost to have a healthy child," said Dr Tiwari.

The study revealed that 37% would-be-mothers took heavy doses of such medicines which are probably not allowed during pregnancy. This affects the brain of the child.

Stress taken by mother on account of family disputes, financial problems, and even malnutrition leads to such behaviour in child.

"It is significant to carry on the delivery procedures in hygienic conditions. It should be made sure that the child cries just after the birth else the blood clotting occurs in brain due to lack of oxygen and this hampers the development of brain," he added.

Only prior knowledge could evade hyperkinetic behaviour in children. It is better to approach psychiatrist if such behaviour is found in a child and this could be made better with proper treatment, said Dr Tiwari.
