The Rajasthan Governor stressed the need to inculcate moral values among the student community. “We could check decline in moral values by following the path shown by noted visionary and founder of BHU Pt Madan Mohan Malviya,” she added.

She remembered the late founder of BHU as a great follower of Indian culture and moral values. “Regular recital of Srimad Bhagwad Gita and programmes on moral values in BHU could be a lesson for other universities,” she said.

“There were around 30 or 32 universities when India got freedom and now there are around 300 universities, but moral values were on a constant decline since then,” she said, adding, “it seems moral values were lost in the crowd of universities and graduates.”

BHU vice-chancellor Prof Panjab Singh presided over the function and said the university had always tried to follow the values of Malviya ji. He said the Mahamana Heritage Complex would soon be constructed and be an inspiration for others.

Exe welcomed the guests whereas Dean of Stu cutive Council member of BHU Prof Anand Mohan dents Prof VK Kumar proposed a formal vote of thanks.
