Strong Congress needed to make J-K coalition strong: Soz

Congress is strengthening itself in Jammu and Kashmir to make the ruling coalition strong, state party chief Saifuddin Soz said.

Congress is strengthening itself in Jammu and Kashmir to make the ruling coalition strong, state party chief Saifuddin Soz said today.

"We are in coalition with National Conference, and the coalition dharma is to strengthen it by removing hurdles en route. But before making the coalition strong, we have to make our party strong," Soz said addressing a party rally at Nagrota near here.

Our coalition partner should not misunderstand the objective of such functions and see things in real perspective, the Congress leader said referring to party rallies in different parts of the state.

"It will not affect coalition and I have assured the Prime Minister on this," he said.

Congress holds key to the unity and integrity of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions because its secular policies, he claimed.

Referring to "liberal funds" being provided by the Centre to the state, the PCC chief said we have to ensure its proper utilisation.
