Two earthquakes, measuring up to 5.1 on the Richter scale, struck off the coast of Russia's North Kuril islands on Tuesday, ITAR-TASS news agency reported quoting seismological centres.

The first quake's epicentre was located just south of Paramushir island, some 110 kilometers (70 miles) from the city of Severo-Kurilsk, and the second was some 325 kilometers (200 miles) away from the city, officials said, adding that no tremors were felt in Severo-Kurilsk.

No damage or casualties were reported.
