Student commits suicide in Rishikesh

Depressed over failing in his exams, an Architecture student allegedly committed suicide at Vedasthanam locality of Rishikesh, police said today.

Twenty-one-year-old Labh Saraswat committed suicide by shooting himself on Friday, they said.

No suicide note was recovered from the room. However, his family told the police that he was in depression after he failed to clear his exams.

Saraswat was pursuing a course of architecture from a private institute here.

The deceased was a nephew of Vinay Sarawat, a senior Congress leader in Uttarakhand.
