Khokon Ghosh (22) was found lying in his hostel bed with froth coming out of his mouth on Wenesday night. He told his friends that he had consumed poison, according to university sources.

He was immediately taken to Pearson Hospital (university hospital) and later shifted to Bolpur sub-divisional hospital, where he died.

"Prima facie it appears that he has committed suicide by consuming poison. But only a post-mortem report and police investigation can say the exact cause of death," a university official said.
