AN ENGINEERING student committed suicide by hanging at her house this morning. According to information, the deceased, Sonal of Bharat Nagar locality in Piplani area, was a student of II year BE (Mechanical) at Jai Narayan College of Technology (JNCT).
The college management, on grounds of short attendance, had denied her from taking her viva tests this morning. The tests had begun from May 2 onwards.
Reportedly depressed at that, she returned home and hung herself from the ceiling of her room. Her family members spotted her body hanging at about 10 am and immediately informed the police.
Piplani police reached the spot and brought the body down. The police found a suicide note in which Sonal has blamed the college management for driving her to take the extreme step.
The note further mentioned that the college management had prevented her from taking the examinations on the grounds that she had failed to make the 75 per cent mandatory attendance mark.
The viva examinations had begun on May 2 and Sonal had been prevented from appearing in them. The written examinations were to begun on May 15 and after Sonal was denied taking the viva examinations, she had lost hope of being allowed to take the written examinations either.

{{/usCountry}}Notably, police also found a pack of rat killer pesticide from Sonal’s room. It is being surmised that she might have even poisoned herself before hanging. However, the exact reason of her death would be known only after the postmortem report was received.
Meanwhile, further investigations are on in the matter. Police said they would register a case under section 306 if the college management were found guilty of driving the girl to commit suicide.
