Students burn effigy of PM, Sibal, Nitish

Aggrieved students and activists of the All India Students' Association (AISA) today burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal and chief minister Nitish Kumar to protest against alleged anomalies in the Class XII examination results.

Aggrieved students and activists of the All India Students' Association (AISA) on Wednesday burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal and chief minister Nitish Kumar to protest against alleged anomalies in the Class XII examination results.

Some students who had on monday launched fast and activists of the AISA, took out a procession in the state capital and burnt the effigies at busy Dakbunglow roundabout here.

Talking to reporters, AISA president Abhyuday charged Singh, Sibal and Kumar of ignoring the agitation of students against the anomalies in the Plus II examination results declared by the CBSE.

He demanded that the regional head of CBSE Patna office be removed and action taken against the officials responsible for the problem.

Aggrieved students and parents had yesterday ransacked the regional office of CBSE.

They had smashed glasses and damaged furniture of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Patna regional office.

They also clashed with the employees and private security.
