THE ALLAHABAD University students burnt the effigy of terrorism and held two-minute silence for the victims of Malegaon blast here on Saturday.

The students condemned the killing of the innocent people in the blast and demanded to check the terrorist activities across the country.
Addressing the students, student leader Abhishek Shukla said that the Malegaon blast proved that the terrorists had no faith in any religion and their main objective was to create terror and destroy the country.
He said that the youths were aware of the intention of terrorists and they would try to check terrorists activities in the country. The students demanded arrest of the persons responsible for the blast.
Resentment: The AU students expressed resentment against the counting of the number of Muslim students in the university. At a meeting held here on Saturday, they wanted to know the reason for such counting.
Presiding over the meeting Au student leader Ziya Quonain Rizvi said that the move had developed a feeling of insecurity among the students and charged the Central Government with adopting partisan policy.

AUCCTA: Allahabad University Constituent Colleges Teachers’ Association (AUCCTA) members expressed displeasure at the varsity administration and AU Vice-Chancellor for his discriminatory and biased attitude.
The members expressed this at an executive body meeting of AUCCTA under the presidentship of Dr Rammuni Pandey.
