A group of students stopped students’ and staff buses and prevented other students from entering college campus or attending classes.

They raised loud slogans and created general ruckus that continued for more than two hours. Students alleged the college did not invite well-known companies for campus recruitment and that they were not allowed to attend the common campus selection process held at other colleges. They demanded that the Training and Placement Officer D K Singh be removed from his post.

They were particularly enraged about not being able to attend the campus recruitment process by Satyam Computers at another private college recently.

Later the students held discussions with principal of the college M K Uprit Singh who assured them that a committee would be constituted to look into their problem. The students have, however, decided to continue their strike tomorrow.

As for the Satyam Computers recruitment drive, he said the company had not allowed those students who had earlier appeared for the HCL Campus drive to attend their Satyam’s recruitment drive. Only students of the host college were made exception in this regard.
