THE ALLAHABAD University (AU) students, continuing their agitation against the proposed reservation in higher education, put up a road blockade on the national highway near the Hindu Hostel here on Saturday. The inmates of the Hindu hostel also joined the agitation under the leadership of student leader Abhishek Shukla.
Addressing the students Shukla said that the students were determined to oppose any move to bring in reservation based on caste factor.
He said that the students were aware of the government’s intention to raise number of seats but it would not deter them from protesting against reservation. He urged the Central Government to withdraw the proposal of caste-based reservation policy.
Meanwhile, the pro-quota students of the AU took out a funeral procession to mark their protest against those who are holding protest against -reservation. The students also sported black ribbons to lodge the protest against the brutal lathicharge on the medicos defending reservation, in Patna.
Meanwhile, The All-India Student Association (AISA) activists burnt the effigy of the Bihar government to protest against the brutal lathichrge on the junior doctors staging rally in support of reservation in Patna.

A LARGE number of medicos took out a rally here on Saturday. They were protesting against the lathicharge on medical students in Delhi and other places. The members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) also participated in the procession.

protesting against the proposed hike in quota, got a shot in the arm on Saturday when their principal Dr SK Katiyar turned up at a meeting against reservation held at the Indian Medical Association office.
