Students sit on hunger strike

STUDENT LEADERS of DDU Gorakhpur University Shrikant Mishra started a relay hunger strike at the entrance gate of the university in support of students long pending demands. Activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad also joined Mishra in the agitation.

Mishra demanded tight security arrangements in various hostels and uninterrupted power supply.

He demanded fresh cataloguing of books at the central library. Mishra said power rostering at night had added to the problems of the hostellers as the annual examination was round the corner.

The student leaders said that university authorities had promised to resolve the problems of hostel inmates within two week but nothing had been done even after a month.
