With the state board declaring the SSC results date — June 25 — the government is under pressure to make its stand clear on the issue.

It is likely to make an official announcement in a day or two. Education Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil might consider an option of implementing the quota for the next academic year, after a public meeting with stakeholders.

Vikhe-Patil spent Wednesday at the high court with Advocate General Ravi Kadam discussing the quota issue.
