Sources said the capacity of transformers at both the Naubasta and Krishna Nagar grid sub-stations would be enhanced to facilitate uninterrupted power supply.

At present there are two 100 MVA transformers and two 40 MVA transformers at Naubasta sub-stations. As per the KESCo’s plan, the capacity of one 100 MVA transformer will be enhanced to 160 MVA and the capacity of one 40 MVA transformer will be enhanced to 60 MVA. This change will enhance the overall capacity of Naubasta sub-station from 280 MVA to 360 MVA. While, the capacity of Krishna Nagar substation will be enhanced from 20 MVA to 40 MVA.

Talking to newsmen local MLA from the Congress Ajay Kapoor said, “The KESCo Managing Director has played a pivotal role in carrying out the up-gradation of transformers.”

An amount of Rs 5 crore would be incurred on the project and the work would be completed within a month, added Kapoor.
