The Bomb Disposal Squad also rushed the spot. The suitcase was opened and a policeman’s uniform was recovered apart from documents. On the basis of documents the policeman was identified as Padam Bahadur, a Platoon Commander with Special Armed Forces (SAF) who is deployed in the security of Mantralaya.

When he was contacted, Bahadur, who lives in Bhim Nagar, said that his suitcase was indeed missing but insisted that his service revolver was also kept in it and has been missing. The police are investigating the case.

In a separate incident, the police questioned several persons in connection with the arrest of a person for cheating people by posing as personal assistant to the Chief Minister. Naresh Bairagi was arrested on Monday but the police recovered a CD that contained record of many dubious financial transactions during search of his house. Bairagi had allegedly demanded money for the party’s election fund.
