A local court of Jamtara in Jharkhand on Wednesday issued a summon against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for alleged comments against Biharis.

The Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate, Ramjit Yadav directed the MNS chief to appear in the court on January 17.

Earlier, the court took cognizance to a petition filed by a lawyer Rakesh Ranjan charging that Thackeray instigated violence against the people of particular state (Bihar) during a Railway Board Examination in Mumbai more than a month ago.
