Sunanda death: SIT questions Tharoor for the second time

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was on Thursday questioned for the second time in connection with the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar last January. Tharoor was asked Wednesday to join the probe by the special investigative team (SIT) investigating Pushkar's death.

Tharoor was asked Wednesday to join the probe by the special investigative team (SIT) investigating Pushkar's death.

He first reached at south Delhi's Sarojini Nagar Police station but was later taken to Vasant Vihar's Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) office.

"He reached at AATS Vasant Vihar office around 11.20 a.m. and his questioning started around 11.30am," a police officer said.

The SIT team had earlier questioned him January 19 at its same AATS office for around four hours.

A five-member SIT comprising Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prem Nath and Additional DCP PS Kushwaha, besides three officers, asked Tharoor several questions, including those related to the now defunct IPL Kochi franchise.

Tharoor's domestic help Narayan Singh also reached at the SIT office along with him and the SIT team also interrogated him.

Police have previouxly questioned Singh twice.

"After questioning Pushkar's son Shiv Menon and other people, we need to question Tharoor again. He has been asked to appear before the SIT tomorrow," Bassi had said.

Police had constituted the SIT to probe the murder after registering a murder case against unknown people Jan 1 this year.

Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel room January 17, 2014.
