A man allegedly killed his five-year-old son by strangulating him to become rich, the police said. The accused was arrested on Sunday night.

A man allegedly killed his five-year-old son by strangulating him to become rich, the police said. The accused was arrested on Sunday night.

The accused, Karamveer, strangled his son Nawal at his residence in village Kherla under Sohna police station on September 28. Karamveer allegedly practiced black magic to become rich and sacrificed his son for this.

According to the police, after killing Nawal, the accused took his body to a cremation ground, where he offered sweets to his dead son and hid his body behind the bushes there. Later, he returned home and tried to kill his mother. The old woman raised an alarm, after which villagers and family members rushed to her rescue. But Karamveer managed to flee. However, the police believe that Karamveer had come to kill his wife. The police have also not ruled out the possibility of black magic.
