MEMBERS OF the Dakshin Vikas Morcha have expressed resentment over allegations levelled by CPM leader Brinda Karat against Baba Ramdev. They burnt an effigy of Karat at Chawla Market.

Morcha members have also made accused Karat of conniving with multinational pharmaceutical companies, whose business has suffered due to the growing popularity of Ramdev.
Morcha president Naveen Pandit said Brinda Karat was acting under pressure of multinational companies and defaming Ramdev by levelling flimsy charges. “It is a conspiracy to defame Swami Ramdev. People not only from India but other parts of the world are under the guidance of Swami Ramdev.”
“A number of cases can be cited when medicines and the yoga training under Baba have played a crucial role in curing diseases of his disciples,” added Pandit.
In view of the growing popularity of Ramdev and the flimsy allegations being levelled against him, security for the guru has also been demanded.
Meanwhile, the Hindu Jagran Manch has also come out openly in favour of Swami Ramdev. Manch members have accused Karat of levelling baseless charges against Ramdev under pressure of multinational companies.
Organisation general secretary Praveen Vajpayee stated that Ramdev had been serving society by his work. “His method to cure disease is cheaper than others and it is affecting the international market.”
