Misra beat Williams 9-4, 10-8, 9-5 to enter under-17 girls' final at the Heriot-Watt National Squash Centre at Colinton Castle Squash Club in Edinburgh this week.

Causing considerable upset the unseeded Misra defeated four seeded players on her way to the finals, becoming the favourite of the tournament.

Misra's Scottish Open performance will help her at the British Open in the first week of January. The Scottish Junior Open Championship is the second biggest junior squash tournament after the British Open. This year, a record 250 players from 22 countries took part.

At the semi-final against Williams, the top seed had a 4-1 lead in the opening game. However, Misra fought hard and went on to serve and did not allow her opponent a single point to wrap up the game 9-4.

In the second game too Williams led. Playing a percentage game, Misra brought the score level at 5-5 and 8-8 to close the game in a tough tiebreak 10-8. The game lasted for more than 20 minutes.
