May day it's my day,
It is my right to celebrate.
Do you know who I am?
I am a labourer always at your service.
I make your house beautiful,
With my hard working hands.

May day it's my day,
It is my right to celebrate.
I cry out when I am exploited but no one feels me,
I cry out for my rights but no one hears me.

May day it's my day,
It is my right to celebrate.
The joy of living in a beautiful house,
Is unable to see the sweat, which I had shed while building it.
My hands worked hard day and night,
So that you could lead a comfortable life.

May day it's my day,
It is my right to celebrate.
I coaxed in the smoke,
So that you could burn the crackers of happiness.
The dust from the quarries clogged my lungs,
And I died unattended and unnoticed death.

May day it's my day,
It is my right to celebrate.
Please! Please! When ever you look around and see me,
Do not pity me but do give me a life of DIGNITY.
