Sushma?s battle-cry: Defeat Sonia

SENIOR BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday swung into poll campaign for the party candidate from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency, Vinay Katiyar. She planned to throw down the gauntlet to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her home turf, Rae Bareli.

SENIOR BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday swung into poll campaign for the party candidate from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency, Vinay Katiyar. She planned to throw down the gauntlet to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her home turf, Rae Bareli.

Before leaving for Rae Bareli, Sushma, who addressed a press conference in the State Capital, said, “I will address eight public meetings in this Lok Sabha constituency, seeking support for Katiyar,” she said.

“Sonia is not invincible,” Sushma said and added the people of Rae Bareli realised that due to ego of Sonia, election had been forced on them.

Sushma said in 1999, she gave a tough fight to Sonia in the Bellary Lok Sabha constituency.

Senior BJP leaders would campaign for Katiyar, she said. Sushma further said that As far as resignation from the Lok Sabha was concerned, Sonia did not make any sacrifice. “In fact, she has resigned from the Lok Sabha fearing Election Commission’s action in the wake of office of profit controversy,” she said.

Addressing a public meeting in Rae Bareli, she assailed the two-year rule of the UPA Government. She said that the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and cement had shot up. She further said that the Congress had repealed the POTA.
