"Supsected Maoists opened fire at BSF's road opening party at 3 pm near Sarasdangal forest. One constable died after being shot in the head while another suffered wounds in the stomach," Inspector General of Police VH Desmukh said in Ranchi.

Polling in this constituency in Dumka district was held along with ten others in the third phase during the day.
