Suspend errant RPF cop: Railway guards

MEMBERS OF the Railway Guard Council took out a procession and staged a demonstration at the railway station, here on Thursday. The agitators were demanding that senior railway officials suspend the Railway Police Force cop who had bashed up a railway guard Udaishanker Singh. They doubted the RPF cop could implicate them in false cases.

Expressing his views secretary of NE Railway Mazdoor Union SC Tripathi said misuse of authority by RPF cops should be checked. He said train guards were always in fear due to threats issued by RPF cops.

The council has threatened to go on a strike to mount pressure for action against the accused. They said no FIR was lodged against the errant RPF cop despite their repeated demands.

Vigilance bulletin
GENERAL manager of the North Eastern Railway SK Vij released a special vigilance bulletin compiled by the vigilance department of railway on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vij said Indian Railways were the largest industrial establishment and people have expectations from the railway officials. He stressed the need to develop a work culture free from corruption and expressed satisfaction that NER had made considerably progress.

Speaking on the occasion, senior journalist Harsh Kumar Sinha said the adventurism of vigilance department of NER had yield the faith of the people and expressed hope that publication of telephone numbers for registering the complaints regarding corruption and harassment would encourage the people to cooperate with the railway officials.

He stressed the need of sustainable efforts to check corruption and other irregularities. In charge of vigilance department NK Sajan and others senior officials were also present on this occasion.
