External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has promised all help to bring back an Indian man, Sushil, stranded in Iran for the last two years.

After a report on Sushil by India Today, a television news channel, Swaraj tweeted, "I have watched your report on detention of an Indian national Sushil in Iran. Please give details. We promise all help."

Sushil, a ship operative working between Dubai and Oman, was arrested by Iranian authorities on charges of oil smuggling in October 2013. His Delhi-based family, the television report said, has been unsuccessfully trying for two years now to bring back Sushil. After Sushil's father died, his mother and sister have kept on the fight to bring him back, the report said.

Swaraj's commitment to bring back Sushil to India, comes close on the heels of promises to bring an 22-24-year-old Indian girl, Geeta, from Pakistan. But, the search for Geeta's family in India is far from over as families from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have claimed Geeta to be their daughter.

Swaraj tweeted on Saturday that efforts were on to complete the final formalities involved in bringing Geeta back.
