Monday morning, my cup of joy was brimming over. Flying over the South China Sea, I could sit back, unfasten my seat belt and finally relax. I wasn’t beginning another week mulling over mistakes. The UBS Order of Merit, the highest-ever prize money won by an Indian in a tournament, so many top 10 finishes—things have been falling in place for me.

Savouring the moment: If you are a relatively decent golfer on the circuit, the only day off is Monday, before you get on to the greens again. Completing the formalities that come with winning the UBS Order of Merit, took most of the day. By the time I completed these, I realised it was eight in the night. I was bone tired and the only thing that I could do then was to catch dinner with a few friends. We hunted down an Indian restaurant. And in Hong Kong, it is not an easy task. We tucked into the spicy tandoori food.

Red, red wine: The red wine I like so much never tasted as good as it did on Sunday evening. Since I am a sportsman I have to make sure I keep a tab on how much I drink. But nothing fuels my lust for life more than red wine. They say it is good for the heart. That is a good enough excuse for me. I washed down the meal with it and straightaway hit the sack. All my partying and movie-watching desires had to be curtailed as I had to catch a flight early next morning.
