In an effort to enhance Indo-Swiss collaboration in Science and Technology, Switzerland will open its second Science Office in Bangalore soon. "Last year, to mark the 60 years of Swiss-Indo friendship we opened a science office in New Delhi and to further strengthen the bilateral relations, we will be opening one more science office in Bangalore," Swiss Consul General Peter E Specker told PTI today, on the sidelines of a prize distribution function of Kuoni academy students.

Specker said the Swiss government will collaborate with various scientific institutions in India to expand collaborative scientific research in many fields. "Already we have collaboration with IIT Mumbai and such collaboration will also be done with institutes like Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and others," he said.

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research are already collaborating with mega scientific projects in Switzerland including the particle accelerator LHC (Large Hadron collider) commissioned last year, to study the fundamental particles of nature.
