The main issue was BCCI president, N Srinivasan’s conflict of interest and he was at the helm when the fixing scandal happened, the lawyer for the petitioner, Cricket Association of Bihar, said.
“The main issue was conflict of interest. The process was not followed even in the constitution of the probe panel. That was the basis of the petition,” Amrit Nayak said. The BCCI counsel had argued that the Cricket Association of Bihar had no locus standi to file a PIL on the board’s functioning and that all operational rules were followed while setting up the panel.
‘Wait till probe ends’
Former BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele dubbed the BCCI’s internal enquiry "eyewash" and urged the board to wait until the police investigation is taken to its logical conclusion.
The BCCI to look into spot-fixing and betting charges in the T20 tournament. “Bombay high court has taken a very correct decision,” he said.
