“MORE AWARENESS among farmers needs to be created about the new agriculture and farming technologies,” said Dr VK Suri, vice-chancellor of the Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture University.

Speaking at the felicitation ceremony organised by the members of Chandra Shekhar Krishak Samiti, Dr Suri said despite several developments in the agro-technology, large number of farmers continued to use age-old farming methods.
Lauding efforts of the Samiti for helping farmers keep pace with the changing times, he said the Samiti members should take the technologies developed in laboratories to fields.
“You should hold meeting in villages and train farmers in using new equipments, hybrid seeds and balanced bio-fertilizers for improving their crop production,” he said. After felicitating Dr Suri a senior Samiti member, Kamlawati Singh said a number of farmer groups, trained in new agro technologies, had been asked to dissipate knowledge among fellow farmers.
