I realised long ago that we talk too much with others to find answers to our questions, forgetting that we have the answers within ourselves and we are searching outside.
It happened with me when I had to choose a stream after 10th class. I asked all of my relatives and friends to help have a good choice. I eventually chose the wrong field as I was thoroughly confused.
Now I realise that I didn’t look within and try to find out what I am best at.
Consult all but don’t be carried away. Take your own decision, keeping in view your interest and your plus and minus points.
After getting into college, I started spending 30 minutes every day alone and it paid off wonderfully well, rather it’s still paying off.
I just led that path in which I felt most comfortable and strong.
I remember a few months ago when a relative came to my place and after acknowledging that I was doing bachelor of journalism, asked me whether I wanted to be a journalist.
I said vaguely no as I wanted to join the India Foreign Services. And when I was counter- questioned why, the safest thing I said was that my parents wanted it.

{{/usCountry}}One thing I implemented was a quote, which I often used but never implemented, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”. I tried finding my passion. Obviously it’s difficult, but I knew that smooth roads never make good drivers and clear skies never good pilots.
And then I decided it’s time I chose my passion and spent enough time with myself and got the answer that I wanted to be a professional writer.
So it’s rightly said, “Sweet are the uses of adversity”. To become successful and contended in life, we need to discover our passion but remember there is a difference between passion and hobby. Try to figure that out. Passion is something, which we never leave, but hobby depends on our mood.
